ABOUT

@_WHY is a satirical look at what it is to be a woman in the 21st Century - living in a world ruled by Instagram gods where cosmetic surgery is sold like confectionery and consumerism is so rampant that we ourselves have become commodities.

Bombarded with a dichotomy of expectations, women are torn between sexy yet culinary, savvy yet sweet, constantly pushed towards an unattainable ideal.

@_WHY shifts the “modern woman” into the realm of the absurd to question societal norms and so invites the audience to reshape their perspectives.

@_WHY is presented as part of Supercell’s Independent Dance Exchange or INDEX program. INDEX supports QLD dance artists by providing a festival platform for developing  fresh ideas and presenting brand new works. In 2018, Supercell have joined forces with the incredible Phluxus2 Dance Collective to continue opening doors for collaborative opportunities and generating innovative ideas for choreographers.
